Pakora Kadhi Recipe | Easy Dinner Recipe


Pakora kadhi is a yummy north Indian dish. Equally Famous in India and Pakistan. It required a few ingredients to cook but it has the ultimate taste. It tastes best with rice. 

It is very tasty with less amount of spices and oil. 

The main ingredient is gram flour. A curry of gram flour with deep-fried fritters dipped in it. With some spices.

I'm going to share the best recipe for kadhi pakora with you. A blend of spices and pakoras. Not too heavy, not too light. Just perfect in taste.

So without wasting time let's get started.

Time required: 2 hours.

Servings: 5 person

Ingredients: 

For curry:

  1. Gram flour: 1cup
  2. Curd or yogurt: half kg
  3. Ginger Garlic paste: 1 and a half tsp
  4. Oil or ghee:  1 cup
  5. Curry leaves: 10 to 12
  6. Cumin seeds: half tsp
  7. Turmeric powder: 2 tsp
  8. Red chili powder: 2 tsp
  9. Salt:according to taste
  10. Water: as required
For pakoras:

  1. Oil: for frying
  2. Gram flour: 1cup
  3. Potatoes thin slices: 2 medium-sized
  4. Onion sliced: 1
  5. Green chilies: 2 to 3 chopped
  6. Fresh coriander: half cup
  7. Mint leaves: chopped half cup
  8. Red pepper powder: 1 tsp
  9. Coriander seeds crushed:half tsp
  10. Salt: according to taste
  11. Water: as required

For tadka:

  1. Oil or ghee: 1/4 cup
  2. Onion sliced: 1
  3. Garlic paste: 1 tsp
  4. Curry leaves: 8 to 10
  5. Cumin seeds: 1tsp

Recipe:

  •  For kadhi:
  • In a bowl beat curd. Add gram flour to it and give it a good mix.   Gradually add  1 cup of water and mix well. Set it aside.
  • In a pot add oil, ginger garlic paste, cumin seeds, and curry leaves, and mix. 
  •  Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Give it a good mix.
  • Add 4 tsp of water and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Now add curd and gram flour mixture and mix well.
  • Add 3 cups of water, mix well and bring it to a boil. 
  • Cover and cook on low flame for 1 hour and30 minutes.
  • Stir in between. 
  • For pakoras
  • In a big bowl, add gram flour, red chilies, coriander seeds, and salt. Mix well.
  • Gradually add water and mix. Make a little thick batter. 
  • Add vegetables like potatoes, onion, spinach, green chilies,  coriander, and mint leaves. Mix well. If the consistency is too thick add some water. But don't make it thin. It should be a bit thick. 
  • In a wok heat oil and add pakora batter with a spoon or hand.
  • Fry till pakoras get golden brown color.
  • Take them out on a plate.
  • Add them
  • Now add fried pakoras to the kadhi. Mix slowly. 
  • Cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Tadka:
  •  In a frying pan add oil, and onion and fry for 3 minutes.  Until it gets translucent.
  • Add garlic paste and fry for a minute.
  • Add button chilies, cumin seeds, and curry leaves and mix well.
  • Now add tadka to the kadhi. 
  •  Pakora kadhi is ready.

Serve:

  • Serve with rice. Along with chutney and Achaar.
