Chinese cuisine is very delicious and famous in every part of the world. Especially in Asian countries. Whether they are noodles or fried rice, every Chinese dish has a separate fan base.
Chow mein is also a very loved Chinese dish.
And I have a very simple and easy recipe for chow mein. Which ultimately gives you the best taste.
If you are a vegetarian you can skip the chicken. It will still taste best.
So without wasting time let's get started.
Time required: 45 minutes
Servings: 4 persons
Ingredients
- Chow mein noodles or Spaghetti:300 g
- Water: as required
- Salt: according to taste
- Oil; 7 tsp
- Soya sauce: 2
- Chili sauce :3
- Oyster sauce: 2
- Chili garlic sauce :1
- Black pepper: 1 tsp
- Carrot julienne sliced: 1 cup
- Capsicum julienne sliced: 1 cup
- Cabbage shredded: 1cup
- Garlic chopped: 1 tsp
- Spring onion whites:1tsp
- Spring onion leaves: 2 tsp
For Chicken marination
- Chicken boneless strips: half kg
- Salt: according to taste
- Vinegar: half tsp
- Soya sauce: 1tsp
- White pepper powder: 1 tsp
- Black pepper powder: 1 pinch
- Garlic powder:1tsp
- Corn flour: 1tsp
Recipe:
- Add spaghetti or noodles to boiling water. Add salt & oil and mix well. Boil till tender. (approx 5 to 7 minutes)
- Drain out hot water with the help of a strainer and rinse with cold water.
- Add oil, mix well & set aside.
- In a bowl add salt, soya sauce, vinegar, black & white pepper, garlic powder, and cornflour, and mix well.
- Add chicken strips mix well and marinate for 15 minutes.
- Now add 2 tsp of oil to a wok and golden fry marinated Chicken strips. Fry till tender. Take out and set aside.
- Add 1tsp oil and saute vegetables for 3 minutes on medium flame. Take out and set aside.
- Add 2 tsp of oil to the wok, add garlic, and mix well.
- Add spring onion whites and saute for 1 minute.
- Add fried (cooked) chicken and mix well.
- Add vegetables, black pepper, soya sauce 2 tsp, chili sauce 3 tsp, oyster sauce 2 tsp, chili garlic sauce 1tsp and mix well
- Add boiled spaghetti or noodles and mix well for 1minute and cook for 2 minutes.
- Delicious chow mein is ready.
Presentation:
- Sprinkle spring onion leaves.
